Verify Rotation and Speed
There are numerous ways to check and adjust the rotation speed of a wheel.
One method to check wheel speed is to tie a white thin object, such as a tie-wrap around the
hub. Power up the wheel and count the rotations of the tie-wrap for one minute.
Note:
Optimal rotation for the SpinLite® TopWinder® is 30 RPM.
Verify Wheel Penetration
Verify that the wheel is spinning at the proper speed and in the proper direction.
Note:
Always check wheel penetration while the wheel is spinning.
Check t
he initial wheel weight using the supplied “fish-scale”. See the images below.
Hook the scale to the passenger side arm and raise the arm perpendicular to the legs.
Power up the wheel to verify the actual weight of penetration that the wheel is applying to the
vehicle surface.
1) Adding weights will decrease wheel weight thus creating less wheel penetration.
2) Removing weights will increase wheel weight creating more wheel penetration.
BE AWARE OF THE AREA SURROUNDING A ROTATING PIECE OF
EQUIPMENT. OBJECTS MAY BECOME TANGLED WITH EQUIPMENT
AND COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
Notice Scale is hooked to passenger side arm
while arms are perpendicular to legs.
Direction of Travel
Note:
Add, remove or adjust counterweights as needed to stay within 35-40 lbs. of penetration.
Too much vehicle penetration can cause damage to vehicles or the wash equipment.
