Reagent preparation
Prepare any necessary reagent according to the manufacturer's instructions for
use. Most reagents with a reagent ID are liquid and ready for use. There are 4
types of reagent bottles that can be used with this system.
•
180 mL reagent bottle
•
60 mL reagent bottle
•
30 mL reagent bottle
•
15 mL reagent bottle
CAUTION
Precautions on use of the 180 mL reagent bottle:
•
Always place a pipe in the bottle before loading the reagent
in the R1/R2 compartment. If a bottle is used without a pipe,
No Reagent errors may result.
•
Avoid moistening the pipe outer surface and bottle
opening or tilting a bottle of reagent. If a pipe is set in a
bottle with the pipe surface and bottle opening being wet or
if a bottle of reagent is tilted, an error may be generated
during the reagent check, resulting in a No Reagent error.
•
When storing the reagent, remove the pipe from the bottle
prior to storage. If the pipe remains inserted in the bottle,
reagent in the gap between the pipe and the bottle top will
go dry due to evaporation.
•
After pouring reagent in a bottle, put the cap on the bottle
opening and then insert a pipe into the dispense opening.
Carefully insert the pipe to avoid causing bubbles in the
reagent.
