It may be appropriate to use a constant time for the damping filter,
for example for a pulsating flow.
The flow is averaged over a number of readings. The damping filter
dampens the measurement noise and the sudden change in the
flow rate. Increasing the damping parameter increases the stability
of the measurement.
Longer times produce a stable average. For short times, the meas-
urement follows the measured values closely and is therefore more
unstable.
