4.3.5 System load within a Processor configuration

There are four criteria I1 , I2 , P1 and M1 . I1 and I2 stand for the current that occurs at 3.3 V and 5 V respectively.
P1 is the power used commonly for I1 and I2. M1 stands for memory allocated by the system. Each criterion
must be valid, to allow the card to be inserted.
The criteria I1, I2 and P1 must be valid per device. They are only critical with the P
ROCESSOR
AGS-3328-2 and the
E
XTENDER
EOS-3193-1. The rule is for each criterion the same. For each card there is a value that must be multi-
plied by the number how often it is inserted in the device. The sum may not exceed the maximum allowed value
for the device, if the configuration shall be allowed.

It is not allowed to configure combinations of cards that do not fullfil the three above
criteria I1, I2 and P1. Otherwise there is the risk to destroy the power supply!
The criterion M1 considers the complete installation, i.e. P
ROCESSOR
, expansion cards and optional E
XTENDER
. For
each card there is a value that must be multiplied by the amount how often it is inserted in the device (P
ROCESSOR
or E
XTENDER
). In a system with AGS-3389 or AGS-3390-1/-2 some graphic cards require an extra amount of mem-
ory space.
The sum of this calculation has to be subtracted from the maximum value of 4096 MB. The result is the amount
of main memory that can be used in the system.
For a system with a Processor AGS-3328 all inserted components (main memory and
components as listed in the table below) may not exceed 4096 MB. The system will not be
functional otherwise!
For a system with a Processor AGS-3389 or AGS-3390-1/-2 the inserted components and
main memory might exceed 4096 MB, but the main memory which exceeds 4096 MB is not
available for the system.
