7.6 Maintenance
Aside from cleaning of the optical windows, the Balluff
Light Array requires only minimal maintenance.
The emitter and receiver windows should be kept clear of
contamination (dust, fingerprints, etc.). If cleaning is
needed, wipe the windows with a lint-free cloth and
alcohol (ethanol, isopropanol). Do not use acetone!

The decrease in accuracy with larger transmitter-
receiver distances is mainly due to diffraction
effects on the object. In order to keep these
effects as low as possible, it is always advanta-
geous to place the object to be detected as close
as possible to the receiver.
