Hoshazki Ice Makers & Ice Storage Bin Cleaning &

Sanitizing Guide

Bag of Ice created this guide to be used in conjunction with and not as a replacement of the manufactures

product manuals. Hoshizaki Service Manual, Cleaning & Maintenance chapter on page 66.

Time required

2-3 hours depending upon amount of scale buildup

Tools & Products

• 5 gallon Soaking-Bucket -

usedtosoakandcleanremovedparts

• 1 pint of

Scaleremover

– removes hard water & minerals (Hoshizaki Scale Away, CLR or Lime Away the

sanitizing product required by your state)

• Food grade water hose long enough to reach from the fresh water source on top of machine to inside

your

Icestoragebin

• Elongatedcleaningbrushes

- enclosed (located in the Ice Maker Box) picture online

• 3/16”stainlesssteelrod

- enclosed (located in the Ice Maker Box)

How the ice maker is accessed is model dependent

• C-Store & XL1900

– access ice maker from the

Top-frontpanels

- access ice maker from the top-front and

Hoshizaki Ice Maker & Ice Storage Bin Cleaning

Power to the vending machine & ice maker should remain

during the

cleaning process.

1. Empty

icestoragebin

using the

Disposeoficetopreventsafetyproblems�

2. Remove front cover of Ice Maker - if still on

a. Remove screws that hold front cover in place
b. Lift front cover up from the bottom and away from the ice

maker

3. Remove top Cover - if still attached

a. Remove screws
