2.12 Measurement software and interfacing
For evaluation purposes and to adjust integration time, offset and span (where necessary), the system is
delivered with
National Instruments’ LabVIEW -based system software. The program is an executable run-
time engine and contains all necessary drivers. A separate license of National Instruments’ LabVIEW
software to run the LGD F200P2 application is NOT required.
National Instruments’ LabVIEW Runtime Environment (RTE) is supplied on the delivered CD and is
available for Windows Systems (XP, 2000, Vista, 7, 8 and windows 10).
Installing the measurement software
Inserting the CD ROM can start the installation procedure automatically, depending on the security
settings of your computer. In case the installation does not start automatically, the software can be
installed manually by executing the file
…\Installer\Volume\setup.exe
Please follow the installation instructions on the screen. After rebooting the computer, the measurement
software can be started by the new entry in the Windows start menu (Axetris LGD Interface).

The computer may need to be restarted after installation. It is recommended to close all
other programs and to save any data before inserting the CD ROM.
Starting the measurement software
The interface starts up with the window shown in Figure 16
and allows to connect to the sensor:
1. Select the serial port where the sensor is connected
( COM 1 button)
2. Select Connect button to establish the connection
3. Ping all button: Automatically detects the right
serial port.
Pressing the Ping all button can interfere with
the communication with devices attached to
other serial ports.
When establishing the serial communication, the on-going
measurement process of the sensor will be interrupted and
restarted after the interface has fully started up. After
establishing the serial connection to the sensor, the interface
is started and the following window will be displayed:
