14.4 GPI / GPO STATUS SECTION

14.4.1 GPI status function
HOOK 1:
this is used to hook, by means of a momentary contact, the telephone line of the
Macrotel X1 Hybrid; it is usually connected to the
TELCO (N-1)
modules of the Broadcast
Mixing consoles that feature a
GPO
contact to answer incoming calls directly from the
telephone fader.
ATTEN1: t
he closure of this GPI, corresponds to the execution, by the Macrotel X1, of the
ATTEN
command available via control software. The ATTEN command works as follows: “
a dB reduction equal to the
“Attenuation” value set in the control software is applied to the Receive signal
”. The connection to the
GPOs
provided by
the mixing consoles or by commands made available to the broadcast technician or director of a programme on air, is
useful if the audio received needs to be attenuated. This is not a
profanity delay
.
HOOK 2:
Disabled on Macrotel X1, the control software shows it in grey.
