PRESET MANAGER
The Audio Control -> Preset Manager section contains a number of very important features for loading, saving, and
exporting presets to and from the PC or factory presets with user customizations.
The Preset Manager comprises four sections:
• Change target Preset
• Preset save to Target
• Preset Load from file
• Preset save to file
In the Change Target preset, you can load one of the ten presets by clicking on Change. Select a preset from the
dropdown menu and click on
CHANGE
. This way, the Audio Process parameters will be changed to take into account
the new setting. The input and output level values and the AGC (Pre-Process) parameter values are not changed.
Selecting a preset is the first step in the initial configuration of an audio processor. The name of the preset specifies the
purpose for which it was designed. For instance, the preset 06-COUNTRY is the best preset to start with when setting
the audio transmitted for a country music programme. When the Change button is pressed, the preset is loaded
immediately, with the result that the difference between the audio presets can be heard immediately.

Using the Save to a Target preset, you can save the customised settings in the
internal memory of the Falcon XT audio processor. The Preset Index ranges
from 11 to 20 and a mnemonic name can also be set for the preset. Press
SAVE: the preset name and its settings are now saved in the internal memory
of the Falcon XT.
To recall a preset, go back to the Change Target Preset option and select the preset from the index in the dropdown
menu. The maximum number of characters allowed for this type of field is 12. Please note that the names for Presets 01
through to 10 cannot be changed as they are default factory settings. The maximum number of presets that can be
saved on the machine is 20.
The Preset Save to a File section lets you save all the preset data in a separate
storage area from the Falcon XT. When you press SAVE, the window to save the
file appears.
After keying in the default file name (FM.PRE named ‘ONE’ in the
example ), press SAVE. There is no need to add the extension ‘.PRE’
as it will be added automatically by the system.
