IQ Pooling
The HMX Manager allows you to pool IQs so that they are accessible to multiple users. All
discovered devices are assigned to a pool of IQs. When a user logs in at a user station that user will
connect to the IQ that has been assigned to them. If no specific IQ has been assigned they will then
connect to the first available IQ, assuming pooling is enabled.
The pool of devices is automatically created and consists of discovered IQs that are not specifically
assigned to users and not in use in a connection. Each IQ is assigned based on the order in which
the users log in.
To enable IQ pooling:
1.
In the HMX Manager, click the System tab.
2.
Click HMX Manager Server.
3.
Click IQ Pooling in the left navigation pane.
4.
Click to select the Enable IQ pooling.
5.
Click Save and then Close.
To disable IQ pooling:
1.
In the HMX Manager, click the System tab.
2.
Click HMX Manager Server.
3.
Click IQ Pooling in the left navigation pane.
4.
Click to de-select the Enable IQ pooling.
5.
Click Save and then Close.
Backup and Restore
The HMX Manager allows you to back up the database and to store it in a location of your choice.
In addition, you can also restore the database from a file located on any machine accessible on the
LAN on which the Management Appliance is located.
