Risk of burns from eruption of hot
steam and boiling water - Never
open coolant reservoir when engine
is hot.
Coolant system is pressurised.
Opening of coolant reservoir cap when
the system is hot will cause the water to
boil immediately, causing burns from
hot steam and boiling water.
Always allow the engine to cool before
opening the cap. It is not necessary to
open the cap to check the coolant level,
the level can be seen through the
transparent reservoir. Check the water
level in reservoir when engine is cool.

Always shut down the engine before
accessing the engine compartment.
Engine cooling fan, alternator belt, and
belt pulleys will move at high speed
when engine is running. Never open
the engine cover when engine is
running.
