Remote activation of the answering machine
Imagine you have left your office or apartment and have forgotten to switch your
answering machine on.
The remote access feature enables the answering machine to be switched on via a
telephone which uses the tone dialling method.
1. Call your own phone number. The call is automatically taken after 10 rings
despite the answering machine being switched off and you hear an
acoustic signal.
2. Press the Asterisk button. You hear two acoustic signals. Enter the
three-digit PIN code. In the event of an incorrect entry, two acoustic signals
are issued. Enter the PIN code again, correctly. When the code is entered
correctly, the answering machine’s Options menu is played back.
Note:
If the PIN code is entered incorrectly twice, an acoustic signal is issued and
the line is automatically disconnected.
3. Press the “8” button to switch the answering machine on.

4. Replace the receiver.

Free of charge pre-remote access
The free of charge pre-remote access function can be used to determine whether
messages have been left on your answering machine without accruing any telephone
charges.
To do this, set the “Delay taking the call” function to Time-saver (charge saver). Refer
to Chapter 10.6.3.
When you are subsequently call the answering machine while underway, the
answering machine responds as follows:
1. If your call is taken after 2 rings, there are messages on the answering
machine.
2. If no messages have been recorded, the call is not taken after 2 rings.
Replace the receiver immediately because the call will be taken after 4
rings. No telephone charges are necessary because no connection has
been made.
