Chain Dialling
The chain dialling function is used in more complex telephone services, e.g. for
telephone banking, call-by-call or calling card procedures. The function is used to
transfer numbers stored in the phone book (e.g. bank account number) while a call is
actually in progress. It is also possible to combine numbers for transfer from the
phone book with numbers entered manually (e.g. PIN number). The example below
explains the use of the chain dialling function in connection with a calling card
procedure.
Note:
A calling card is a virtual telephone card. This telephone card contains your
secret PIN and calling card number.
1. Press the phone book button
D
. The callers stored in
the telephone book are displayed in alphabetical
order.
2. Press the
B
and
E
buttons to select the calling card number.
3. Press the Call button
A
and the stored calling card number is dialled
automatically.
Note:
The message received from the calling card provider requests your PIN.
4. Enter the associated PIN using the digit keys. The
PIN is transferred.
Note:
PINs should not be stored in the phone book to
protect them from misuse.
5. Press the phone book button
D
again. Use the
B
and
E
buttons to scroll through and select an entry
stored in the phone book.
6. Confirm by pressing the
F
button to dial the phone number selected.
Note:
Any number of entries from the phone book can be “chained” when a
connection has been established by pressing the
D
button.
