Introduction:
The R4520C is a receiver - data logger combination.
The R4520C can store 98304 Stationary data blocks, or 49152 Aerial data blocks. For Aerial Data, an extra data
block is needed for GPS information. The data is stored to memory using a looping format. If the data set is
maxed out, the newest data will overwrite the oldest data block.
The Receiver uses DSP (Digital Signal Processing) technology to achieve a better sensitivity, and to help filter out
noise. The DSP is using the audio signal from the R4520C and digitally sampling the signal. When the signal has
been digitized, mathematical calculations are then used to identify signals.
The C suffix indicates the software in this receiver is programmed to detect pulse coded tags.
A pulse coded tag is a transmitter using multiple pulses repeated at a specific pulse rate. The multiple pulses are
used to provide specific ID’s allowing multiple transmitters to be present on the same frequency. A pulse burst
consists of a single wide pulse followed by two narrow pulses.
On each tuned in frequency, the R4520C has the ability to modify its audio output. In addition to the audio playing
every signal the receiver is picking up, it can be used to filter out pulse coded tags. The audio can be programmed
to broadcast only one pulse coded tag for individual tracking with or without background or it can be programmed to
play only the background. When it is selected to play only the background it silences all the currently deciphered
pulse coded signals. This is helpful when there are multiple pulse coded tags being picked up on the same
frequency at the same time.
Class B Device Statement:
(Section 15.105 (b) of the FCC Rules)
“Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital
device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable
protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses,
and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the
instructions may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no
guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause
harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the
equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of
the following measures:
- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
o
Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is
connected.
o
Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.”
