radio, along with the antenna, mounts on the backpack pole (Figure 4.9).  

In the pole-mounted configuration, the radio antenna is mounted on a bracket holding 
the antenna onto the pole directly below the GPS antenna (Figure 4.10).  

An option for the pole-mount configuration is to use the included rubber duck antenna 
and connect it directly to the radio antenna connector on the back of the GPS
