It is recommended that the radio antenna be connected to the radio prior to applying 
power to the radio, although failing to do so will not cause any harm to the equipment.

GPS Receiver - Radio

The rover GPS receiver must be connected to the rover radio in order to get the raw 
data from the base system.  Figure 3.19 shows the cable used for this purpose. 
Depending on the radio type used, this cable may be identical to the cable used to 
connect the base GPS receiver to the base radio.  In addition to supplying received 
raw data from the base to the rover receiver, this cable also supplies power to the
