Connectivity

receiver using an RS232 cable (Figure 3.7).   

The cable supplied with each Z-Xtreme receiver for downloading of data to a PC is 
also used for communication between the Z-Xtreme and the handheld computer.  
Since you will receive two of these cables with your system (one with each receiver) it 
is recommended that you keep one of them with your base receiver for field use and 
the other with your PC in the office for data download.

The computer communication cable connects to the Z-Xtreme via one of the three 
serial ports on the back panel of the receiver.  These three ports are grouped together 
and labeled ‘SERIAL PORTS’.  Although any one of the three ports will accept the 
connection to the handheld, it is recommended that the handheld be connected to the
