8.2.2. Flanger
The Flanger works by mixing identical copies of the input signal, with one signal delayed
by a small and gradually changing amount of time. While the Chorus works with longer
delay times, the Flanger uses much shorter delay times which produces a characteristic
undulating swept comb filter effect.
Controls
Description
LFO Freq
Controls the frequency of the LFO that will modulate the delayed signal to produce the effect.
Depth
Sets the depth of the modulation applied by the LFO.
Feedback
Adds feedback to the flanger signal, to achieve a harsher or ringing tone.
Stereo
Will switch the Flanger output between mono and stereo.
Phase Invert
Inverts the phase of the flanger signal to create effect variations through phase cancellations.
LP Filter
Filters the frequencies above the cutoff point, to avoid a sound too harsh.
HP Filter
Filters the frequencies below the cutoff point to avoid too much bass in the sound.
Dry/Wet
Controls the balance between processed and unprocessed sound.
