Installation and Removal

ELT

A.

ELT Bracket Installation

1)

Verify the Toggle switch position. Toggle switch must be in the

”

OFF

”

or

“

ARM

”

position depending on the

operator’s requirements

.

2)

Bend the ELT 4000S antenna over the switch to protect the switch. Secure antenna

with Velcro strap.

3)

The ELT 4000S must be placed inside the bracket with the Toggle switch pointing to

the back and the programming connector placed towards the front in order to protect
the antenna.

4)

Close the swing bracket arm and place the pin inside the hole.

5)

The pin must lock the swing.

NOTE: The ELT 4000S is TSO Certified with the bracket and thus should be installed with the

bracket to maintain TSO Certification.

The mounting hole pattern for the ELT 4000S bracket is as follows in Figure 9. Additionally,

Figure 10 shows dimensions of the bracket when installed and fully open (ie. arm swung fully

open). It is important to note that the arm can be swung open from just one side (either the

left or right side depending on the configuration of the bracket being utilized). Figure 10 also
shows the height of the bracket with the pin fully extended. Lastly, Figure 11 shows dimensions

of the bracket when closed with the ELT inside:
