The ARTEX ELT 4000S is a CLASS 2 Survival (S) beacon which transmits on 121.5 and
406.031 MHz.

Battery
ELT 4000S Battery system requires no TSO certification. The battery is based on alkaline
cells and individual battery cell certification is limited to UL and CE standards. ELT 4000S
battery system is not considered Hazmat but should be disposed of within the guidelines
of your local authority.
NOTE:
The conditions and tests for TSO approval of this article are minimum
performance standards. Those installing this article, on or in a specific
type or class of aircraft, must determine that the aircraft installation
conditions are within the TSO standards. TSO articles must have separate
approval for installation in an aircraft. The article may be installed only
according to 14 CFR part 43 or the applicable airworthiness requirements.
