3.2 CPU Complex
The CPU complex of SharpStreamer Pro card is comprised of an Intel E3-1578Lv5 or
E3-1585Lv5.
3.2.1 Intel Skylake-H Processor
Skylake is the 6th generation of Intel's Processor Family. Built on a 14 nm process, each
processor is 64-bit and multicore. Part of the H-processor line, both the Xeon E3-1578Lv5 and
E3-1585Lv5 use the BGA1440 package and are connected to a discrete PCH. These processors
also include an upgraded GT4/e graphics interface in the form of the Intel® Iris™ Pro Graphics
P580.
3.2.2 Intel Skylake PCH
The H-Processor line of the Skylake is offered in a two chip platform. Platform Controlled Hub
(PCH) is a separate IC along with the
E3-1578L v5 / E3-1585L v5 processor. PCH controls certain
data paths and support functions used in conjunction with Intel E3-1578L v5 / E3-1585L v5
processor. The PCH provides extensive I/O support.
