For high currents that indicate 80% or less of the line length, the trip at one side

occurs instantaneously and the signal is sent to the other side using the smART P2P

protocol. At the other end a trip (50H) will occur if the fault from the other side

happened at 80% or less or we shall have a pickup for the 50 unit if the fault current

indicates a fault beyond 80% in which case the trip is blocked until permission arrives

from the other side. See that even when the 50 unit is configured to trip in a time

greater than the 50H trip can occur earlier if permission arrives from the other end.

2.3.2.3. DIRECT TRANSFERED TRIP

This diagram uses an 80% coverage from each side (zone 1) if any of the units trips

the other one trips too. The logical diagram is shown in Figure 2-59:
