The display and keypad led lamps can be controlled using the ARLACON display terminal
commands as described in the ARLACON displays manual.
Fig. 4.2.1 shows the characters generated by pressing the MC300 keypad keys. Numbers
shown below the key characters are used as references when addressing the key led lamps
with the respective control sequence.

After opening the display and keyboard can be used as they were a separate ARLACON
terminal connected to #5, for example. To write to the display use the PRINT #5 or BYTE(#5)=
command and to read from the keyboard use the BYTE(#5) function or the INPUT#5
command.
ASCII -keyboard
An ASCII keyboard can be connected to the standard 5-pin connector in the end of the MC300
version with enclosure. In the MC300 flush mount version a keyboard can be connected to S6
on the system board using an optional adapter cable (50cm) supplied separately. With the
adapter cable the keyboard connector can be installed conveniently near the unit.
The ASCII keyboard is a standard AT keyboard with a
ø
13mm DIN connector. It operates in
paraller with the internal keypad, so all characters are stored in the same input buffer and can
be read from the same device number. The operation of the keyboard and generated
keycodes are described in detail in the ARLACON displays manual.
Display
The LCD display of MC300 can show text and graphics as printed from the system to the
device number opened for TR:. The display screen is 40 normal size characters wide row and
30 rows high. The size of characters, character set and other display functions can be
selected/used with the control codes described in the ARLACON displays manual. When
printing graphics, the screen has a resolution of 320x240 pixels. The most convenient way to
