Load the chain tensioner with special

tool.

Specific tooling

020981Y

Lever for disarming the hydraulic ten-

sioner of the timing chain

•

Apply Loctite 243 thread lock on the

thread of the timing gear fastener

screw. This screw must be replaced at

each reassembly.

•

Apply and loosely tighten the gear fix-

ing screw on the camshaft.

•

Remove the two crankshaft and cam-

shaft reference pins.

•

Turn the crankshaft until the second

screw of the sprocket is revealed.

•

Block crankshaft rotation using one of

the specific tools.

•

Apply Loctite 243 thread lock on the

thread of the second gear fastener

screw. This screw must be replaced at

each reassembly.

•

Tighten the second camshaft gear fix-

ing screw to exactly the torque speci-

fied.
