Using EZ-KIT Lite

Installation and Session Startup

For correct operation, install the software and hardware in the
order presented in the

Vi+ Installation Quick Reference

Card

1. Verify that the yellow USB monitor LED (

LED4

, located near the

USB connector) is lit. This signifies that the board is communicat-
ing properly with the host PC and is ready to run Vi+.

2. From the

Start

menu, navigate to the Vi+ environment

via the

Programs

menu.

If you are running Vi+ for the first time, the

New Session

dialog box appears on the screen (skip the rest of the procedure and
go to step 3).
If you have run Vi+ previously, the last opened session
appears on the screen.
To switch to another session, via the

Session List

dialog box, hold

down the

Ctrl

key while starting Vi+ (go to step 5).

3. In

Debug target

, select

Blackfin Emulators/EZ-KIT Lites

Platform

, select the appropriate EZ-KIT Lite via a debug agent

(

ADSP-BF561 EZ-KIT Lite via Debug Agent

Session name

, type a new name or accept the default.

4. Click

to return to the

Session List

5. Highlight the session and click

Activate
