Diode Tests (see fig. 6)
1. Set the Function knob to the "
Ω
" position. Use the Function button to select
diode test.
2. Connect the red test lead to the “V
Ω
" jack and the black test lead to the "COM"
jack.
3. Turn off power to the circuit under test. External voltage across the components
causes invalid readings.
4. Touch probes to the diode. A forward-voltage drop is about 0.6V (typical for a sili-
con diode).
5. Reverse probes. If the diode is good, "OL" is displayed. If the diode is shorted,
"0.00" or another number is displayed.
6. If the diode is open, "OL" is displayed in both directions.
7. Audible Indication: Less than 0.25

Continuity Measurements (see fig. 7)
1. Set the Function knob to the "
Ω
" position. Set Function button to “ “.
2. Connect the red test lead to the “V
Ω
" jack and the black test lead to the “COM”
jack.
3. Turn off power to the circuit under test. External Voltage across the components
causes invalid reading.
4. Connect the test leads to the two points at which continuity is to be tested. The
buzzer will sound if the resistance is less than approximately 25
Ω
.
Frequency and Duty Cycle Measurements (see fig. 8)
1. Set the Function knob to the “Hz“ or “%” position.
2. Connect the red test lead to the “V
Ω
" jack and the black test lead to the “COM”
jack.
3. Connect the test leads to the point of measurement and read the frequency or duty
cycle from the display.
Temperature Measurements (see fig. 9)
1. Set the Function knob to the desired temperature range: °C, °F.
2. Connect the K-type thermocouple to the TEMP adapter and plug into V
Ω
and COM.
3. Match the polarity of the adapter to the polarity of the thermocouple.
4. Connect the TEMP adapter to the V
Ω
and COM jacks.
