APPENDIX 1 – AMPLIVOX ‘ENCRYPTION’ FOR ENCRYPTION & DECRYPTION
38
OM033-4 - CA850 Series 5 Operating Manual
is the default CA850 audiometer filename for importing and exporting data with encryption). This is illustrated
in the window below.
Next specify the name and location for the decrypted file. Click the
button next to the ‘unencrypted file’
field and browse to select the required location and enter the filename in the usual way.
Click ‘Open’ and the
window below is displayed.
Note: if it is required to use this file with Audibase immediately
it should be named ‘exportdata.csv’ (as above).
Otherwise the filename can be set as something more meaningful, but it
must be changed to
‘exportdata.csv’
before use with Audibase.
Next enter the 16-character alphanumeric password (pass phrase) that was used when the file was originally
encrypted (typically on the CA850 audiometer).
If the password has been lost then the data will no longer be accessible. But it is, of course, possible
to export the original data from the CA850 (encrypted if required) and repeat the above process to
produce the required decrypted file.
An example of an alphanumeric password
(pass phrase) is shown in the window below.
