4. Frequent power failures in the area where the analyzer is used are best
taken care of by installing an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). The
UPS will supply power instantly from batteries when the main power is
interrupted. Proper power will be supplied for minutes or hours depend-
ing upon the size of the battery. Since the ta7000F needs less than 5A of
current, the UPS battery pack can be relatively small.
Support Gas Utilities Preparations
The ta7000F needs several support gases in order to run properly. Please
refer Specifications for detailed gas specifications for purchasing gases in
cylinders. In order to achieve the low detection limits, it may be essential
to further clean the gases with external purifiers.
General Notes on Regulators and Plumbing
1 .Ultra High Purity (UHP) regulators and gauges are suggested for all
incoming gas streams
2. Use Cajon VCR fittings with nickel gaskets to connect to UHP regula-
tors. Do not use pipe thread fittings since they are not clean and are not
leak-tight for trace gas analysis.
3. A special adapter / fitting is used on gas cylinder pressure regulators
going to the ta7000F. The adapter has 1/4” VCR to 1/16” VICI fitting.
Suggested Hardware for Gas Connections
-UHP Regulators for Carrier/Sample and Support GasesUp to 4 (depends on FID model)
dual stage stainless steel, 0 to 100 psig with gauges and 1/4” VCR female fittings.
-UHP Stainless Steel Diaphragm Normally Closed Valve for external FID H2 Shut-off 1
UHP stainless steel diaphragm normally closed valve that actuates at 57 psi.
-UHP Regulator, Calibration Gas1 dual stage stainless steel, 0 to 100 psig with gauges and
1/4” VCR female fittings.
-Adapter, 1/16” VICI – 1/4” VCR, 7 each required for gas connections via 1/16” tubing um-
bilical at regulators, FID Air inlet and FID H2 inlet. Trace Analytical P/N 220-091.
-Nut, 1/4” VCR Gland, Male, 7 each required for use with VICI-VCR adapters at regula-
tors, FID Air inlet, and FID H2 inlet.
-Nut and ferrule, 1/8-inch VICI, 2 each required for use in connecting the Actuator gas
and FID H2 Shut-off valve.
-Gasket, 1/4” VCR, Nickel, 9 each required for use with VICI-VCR adapters and purifier
connections.
-Tubing, 1/16” OD x 0.03” ID, Stainless Steel, 5 each approximately 72” lengths for gas
supply umbilical.
-Tubing, 1/8-inch OD, for pneumatic (Actuator gas and FID Shut-off valve) line 2 each ap-
proximately 72” length for gas supply umbilical.
