2. Inspect the belt.
Caution:
Always wear gloves when inspecting or changing the belt
or other parts.
Check if the belt is broken and visually inspect the belt for
deterioration or cracks. (If the belt must be replaced, contact
your dealer or an Amano branch office.)
Measure the belt deflection
[Proper deflection value]
The belt should have 6–10 mm of deflection when 50 N of
force are applied to the center section of the belt as shown
to the right.
3. Adjust the belt.
Adjust the four nuts to achieve the [Proper deflection value]
listed above.
Adjustment method:
Loosen the nut (four locations) above the blower base.
Using a wrench, turn the nut below the blower base to the
left to narrow the pulley gap and decrease the belt tension.
Turn the nut to the right to widen the pulley gap and in-
crease the belt tension.
Repeat the adjustment for the remaining three nuts.
Note that the nuts must be adjusted so that the gap between
the blower base and motor base are the same (the blower
base and motor base should be parallel).
* If the blower base and motor base are not parallel, the belt
life will be shortened and abnormal noise may be pro-
duced.
After adjusting the belt, be sure to tighten the nuts securely
and check the belt deflection again. Install the access panels
after completing the belt adjustment.
Caution:
The blower rotates at high speed. Never operate the unit
with the access panels removed.
