Introduction
The blades on Alpha’s helicopter ‐ type UAVs need little maintenance, but they must be in perfect
condition in order to avoid vibration and to maximize flight performance. Blade failure in flight will almost
certainly result in the loss of the UAV. If a blade is damaged during storage or transit then it must be
carefully checked and replaced if necessary.
Step by Step Procedure
Step 1 – To remove a Tail blade (010164240) or Main rotor
blades (010162200), simply undo the single cap head screw
which retains it in the Tail blade grip (010164252) or Main
blade holder (010162216)
Step 2 – Carefully inspect the blade along its entire length,
paying particular attention to the blade root (around the
mounting hole) and the leading edge.
