RS232 to RS485 Cables & Interface

FOR USE IN SAFE AREA ONLY - Connecting unapproved equipment to the terminals
of the instrument could cause the instrument to become unsafe for use in the hazardous
area and will invalidate the intrinsically safe certification.

Recommended for Windows 9x

The Interface unit INT007 has two 9-way ‘D’ type connectors. The connector marked
with a ‘B’ connects to a PC or Laptop serial Port using a 2.0m serial cable (Part No:
CAB029). The connector marked with a ‘S’ connects to the SADPminiEx using a 1m

special cable (Part No: CAB032).

The  INT007  has  a  facility  to  connect  a  +12v  DC  power  supply  (2.5mm  plug  with
positive  tip).  This  supply  is  only  required  when  the  PC  or  Laptop  connected  to  the
SADPminiEx  is  not  able  to  supply  100mA.  Generally,  PC’s  do  not  require  this  power
supply. Laptops may require the supply for distances above 15m RS232 side and 275m
RS485 side.
