Maintenance
General Maintenance
Before performing any maintenance procedures, see Safety.
Scheduled maintenance prevents unexpected downtime,
reduces the number of accidents due to poor equipment per-
formance, and helps extend the life of the unit.
Proper maintenance and care of your heater trailer is a must
for safe and reliable operation. Use the following mainte-
nance and care guidelines, in addition to those scheduled by
your shop equipment maintenance schedule.
Where equipment is operated under severe conditions (very
dusty, extreme heat or cold, etc.), it should be serviced more
frequently.
Maintenance Chart
Daily
- Check Engine Oil
- Check Coolant Level
- Check Tire Pressure
Weekly
- Grease Fan and Jack Shaft Bearings
- Check Fan Belt Wear and Tension
Every 300 Hours
- Change Engine Oil
See Dealer Yearly
- Change Engine Air Filter
- Grease Wheel Bearings
- Check Fire Extinguisher
As Required
- Check Break-Away Brake System Battery Charge
- Check Coolant Freeze Point
- Check Trailer Lighting
- Check / Drain Fluid Containment Tank
Location Of Serial Number Plates
The serial number plate for the heater trailer is located on the
right side of the trailer tongue ( A , Figure 22).
The serial number plate contains the following information:
• Manufacturer
• Date of Manufacture.
• Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR)
• Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR)
• Tire Size
• Rim Size
• Cold Tire Inflation Pressure
• Serial Number
• VIN Number
• Vehicle Classification (Type)

upper right side of the engine block above the fuel injection
pump ( B , Figure 23).
