Section 8 Service Procedures Unique to Electronic Control Model Dryers
To reduce the risk of electric shock, fire, explosion, serious injury or death:
• Disconnect electric power to the dryer(s) before servicing.
• Close gas shut-off valve to gas dryer(s) before servicing.
• Never start the dryer(s) with any guards/panels removed.
• Whenever ground wires are removed during servicing, these ground wires must be
reconnected to ensure that the dryer is properly grounded.

Power cord plugged in?

NO
Plug in.
Proper voltage, polarity and
grounding at outlet? Refer to
Figure 57.
YES
NO
Go to "Symptom: Blown
Fuse Or Tripped Circuit
Breaker", Paragraph 80.
Check to see that voltage is being
applied to control.
Approximately 120 Volts between
terminals “P3” (neutral) and
“COM” on heat relay K2?
YES
NO
Check for broken, loose
or incorrect wiring from
outlet to control.
Unplug power cord and disconnect
wires from terminals “P3” and
“COM”. Take resistance reading
through transformer.
*166 Ohms ± 30% between “P3”
and “COM” terminals.
Replace control.
YES
Recheck from beginning. If
problem exists, after checking for
loose, broken or incorrect wiring,
replace control.

*This measurement should be made with a digital Multi-Meter set at 200 Ohm scale for best precision.
