The 3 images above show the preparation of the
epoxy glue
and applying it on the surface of the
sensor, ensuring there are no air bubbles or uneven surface.
Installation Steps
1) Prepare the tank surface, sand the surface to roughen it to make a better adhesive connection,
and clean with alcohol to remove any grease.
2) Cover the sensor surface with Epoxy resin
3) Place into position on the tank and hold until the epoxy dries
Important Note:
Using silicone gel adhesive will not work. If you use anything other than the
epoxy you will get air pockets like the soft silicone. You need to use epoxy to get a hard
consistent contact between the sensor and the tank in order for the sensor to transit the sound
waves efficiently into the tank.
The Epoxy Resin is the glue. Epoxy glues come in 2 tubes and require mixing. Once mixed it
begins a chemical reaction which hardens the glue in a few minutes. It comes usually in
packages like you can see below. The sensor is then glued using the epoxy to the bottom of the
tank as described in the steps above.
