Section 4: Electrical Connections
All electrical connections must comply with Article 300 - Wiring Methods and
Article 500 - Hazardous (Classified) Locations of the National Electric Code
(NEC) 1993. Reference to the use of this equipment in Hazardous Locations only
applies to installations located within the United States of America. These systems
are not Explosive Atmosphere Directive approved for use in the European
Community by virtue of not being reviewed for compliance.

The following electrical diagram (Figure 4.0) depicts the essential elements of the
controller interior (does not include the controller door elements) to be addressed
during equipment installation. Terminal strips for Digital Inputs and Outputs
which serve as the communication interface between the GASGUARD™ system
and the user’s facility are discussed in greater detail in Section 4.4. The “AC In”
terminal strip is addressed in Section 4.2 along with additional information for
proper 120/240 VAC electrical connection to the system. Replacement fuse
information can be found in Section 6.3 of the System Specific Information of the
Operation Manual. The power supply and solenoid modules are shown for
reference purposes only. See Section 4.5 for computer network terminal strip
connections (found on the inside of the fold-down controller door) not shown in
this diagram. Please read the Electrical Connections portion of this manual
thoroughly before proceeding with the system electrical installation.
