11-4 The Continuity Test Function

Standard Test Functions

Agilent 93000 SOC Series User Training Part 1, October 2004

331

Type in the identity of the pins that are to be tested. The wild card

will force the system to perform the test on all valid pins. Valid

pin types for this test are all except dps. You can also use pins of

type dc for the continuity test using the programmable load.

Click on the

Programmable Load

radio button.

Enter a value for the current to be used for the test. This current

should be large enough to be measured, but not so large as to

damage the diode paths being checked. The value that you enter can

be positive or negative. The polarity you enter defines the polarity

of the commutation voltage.

(Optional) Enter a value for the pass voltage minimum parameter.

This value can be positive or negative — the system uses only its

modulus. The default value is 0V. For single polarity the maximum

value is 6V when the test current is positive and 2V when the

current is negative. For both polarities the maximum value is 2V.

These maximum values ensure that the commutation voltage for the

programmable load remains within specifications. The minimum

swing between pass volt. min and pass volt. max is 100mV, where

pass volt. max is always greater than pass volt. min.

Enter a value for the pass voltage maximum parameter. This value

can be positive or negative — the system uses only its modulus. For

single polarity the maximum value is 6V when the test current is

positive and 2V when the current is negative. For both polarities the

maximum value is 2V. These maximum values ensure that the

commutation voltage for the programmable load remains within

specifications. The minimum swing between pass volt. min and pass

volt. max is 100mV, where pass volt. max is always greater than pass

volt. min.

Select whether you want to make the measurement using only the

polarity entered in the test current, or whether you also want to

repeat the test with the opposite polarity if the first attempt passes.

Type your result text in the output entry field. The label

will list

the pin currently being measured.

Click

exec

to perform the test or

break

to abort it once it has

started.
