3.2.7 Commissioning of the gantry axis 

 

 WARNING

 

 

The gantry axis with attachments and superstructures should 
be started up in set-up or jog mode. Incorrect programming can 
trigger uncontrolled movements of the gantry axis. Fast or 
unintentional movements of the module can result in personal 
injury, even death, and damage to the unit. 

Ensure that there are 

no persons or loose tools within the Installation range of the gantry 
axis.

 

 
Procedure: 

 

Switch off the controller and ensure that it is secured against restarting. 

 

Connect the encoder cable. 

 

Connect the motor cable. 

 

Connect the reference switch cable. 

 

Switch on the controller and check the correct functioning of the displacement 
measurement system and the reference switch. 

 

Carry out a test run. 

-

  At first at slow traverse speed, 

-

  afterwards under operating conditions. 

 

Electric shock 

NOTE

 

 

Unauthorised persons must be prevented from carrying out work on 
the controller and in the switch cabinet. 

Persons could suffer an electric shock; the system constructor
