Setting the Supervisor and User Passwords
You may set the supervisor and user passwords using these
options. The
Supervisor Password
protects the system from
unauthorized access. When set, the system prompts every user to
enter the correct password every time the system boots up. The
User Password prevents unauthorized access to the BIOS setup.
To set the supervisor/user password:
1. Select
Set Supervisor Password/Set User Password
,
then press <Enter>. The
Enter Password
window
appears.
2. Key-in the password (up to eight characters), then press
<Enter>.
3. When prompted, key-in the password again, then press
<Enter> to confirm. The screen returns to the main
menu.
To disable the supervisor/user password:
1. Select
Set Supervisor Password/Set User Password
,
then press <Enter>. The
Enter Password
window
appears.
2. Press <Enter>. A confirmation message appears telling
you that the password has been disabled. The screen
returns to the main menu.
