BIOS Setup

cPCI-6910 Series

8.5.1

OnChip IDE Device

This sub-menu lets you configure advanced IDE controller config-
urations.

IDE HDD Block Mode

Allows the hard disk drive controller to use the fast block mode
when transferring data. Options include:

Enabled

IDE controller uses block mode

Disabled

IDE controller uses standard mode

On-Chip Primary PCI IDE
On-Chip Secondary PCI IDE

The integrated peripheral controller comes with an IDE interface
that supports two IDE channels. Enable these options to activate
each channel separately.

IDE Primary Master PIO
IDE Primary Slave PIO
IDE Secondary Master PIO
IDE Secondary Slave PIO

Allows your system hard disk controller to perform faster. Rather
than have the BIOS issue a series of commands that transfer to or
from the disk drive, PIO (Programmed Input/Output) allows the
BIOS to communicate with the controller and CPU directly.
