Security Option
Limits the access to the system and/or the BIOS setup.
Setup The system prompts you to enter the supervisor
password every time you try to access the BIOS
setup
System The system prompts you to enter the user password
every time the system boots up
NOTE To disable security, select PASSWORD SETTING from
the main menu. When prompted for the password, leave
the password field empty, then press <Enter>. When se-
curity is disabled, you can boot the system and access
the BIOS setup.
OS Select for DRAM > 64 MB
This option allows the system to access greater than 64 MB of
DRAM memory when used with OS/2, depending on certain BIOS
calls to access memory.
Console Redirection
Allows system access without video display or keyboard. Using
display/keyboard redirection, remote console allows another com-
puter to display the system’s POST messages and commands via
the serial (COM) port. Default value is Enabled. For more informa-
tion on serial communications, refer to the section Appendix:
Using Serial Console.
NOTE Remote console is a character-based terminal applica-
tion that supports either VT100 or ANSI terminals. It does
not support graphics or graphical user interfaces.
Baud Rate
When Console Redirection is enabled, set the serial port’s oper-
ating baud rate. Options include: 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600, and
115200 Kbps.
