14. Troubleshooting Guide
The following steps should be followed if servicing the Grundfos UPM3 Flex AS pump:
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

UNIT/PUMP IS NOT
RUNNING.
NO POWER SUPPLY
Unit is switched off
Ensure the unit power switch is ON
Fuse in the terminal
block has blown
Replace the fuse
The circuit breaker has
tripped
Check the power connection & switch on the
circuit breaker
Power supply failure
Check the power supply
UNIT/PUMP IS NOT
RUNNING.
NORMAL POWER SUPPLY
Unit/controller is
switched off
Check the unit/controller is switched on
Service interval alarm
reached
Check filter for servicing.
Service filter & input new service interval date
Pressure Differential
alarm activated
Service filter & input new service interval date
Low-High Flow alarm
activated
Check system flow.
Service filter & input new service interval date
Low-High Temperature
alarm activated
Check system temperature.
Service filter & input new service interval date
Pump is blocked with
impurities
Unblock the pump and remove impurities
Pump is defective
Replace pump - contact ADEY Customer
Services
PUMP RUNS AT MAX
SPEED & CANNOT BE
CONTROLLED
No signal from signal
cable
Check cable is connected to pump &
controller. If connected correctly, replace the
cable - contact ADEY Customer Services
NOISE IN THE PUMP
There is air in the pump
Let the pump run. The pump vents itself over
time
INSUFFICIENT FLOW
Low/High Flow alarm
activated
Check system flow
Service filter & input new service interval date
Pump performance is
too low
Check the controller settings
Check the pump speed settings
Hydraulic system
is closed or system
pressure is insufficient
Check the non-return valve and filter
Increase the system pressure
PUMP LED5 ON. PUMP
TRIES TO RESTART
EVERY 1.5 SECS.
Rotor shaft is blocked
Unblock the rotor shaft by pushing it with a
screwdriver from the front of the pump
PUMP LED4 ON.
PUMP IS RUNNING
Supply voltage is too low Check the voltage supply
PUMP LED3 ON.
PUMP STOPS
Supply voltage is too low Check the voltage supply
Serious failure
Replace pump - contact ADEY Customer
