h) To confirm if the installation is successful, look at the window from
Device Manager
as follows:
•
Click Windows toolbar
start
Control Panel {control Panel window}
•
select “System” {System Properties window}
•
select “Device Manager” {Device Manager Window}
•
Select “Ports (COM & LPT)”
You should see the device installed under
Ports (COM & LPT)
and
Universal Serial Bus
Controllers.
i) If you have two USB Ports , and you have two ACT-IR204UN IR adapters to plug into the same
PC, you can see two new USB serial Ports

(COM & LPT) in “Device Manager” under “Control
Panel”. But in order to identify which port applied to which adapter, you had better check the first
adapter’s COM port before you plug in the second adapter into PC.
Note:
You could also run the utility program ACT-IR204UN-ComUtility.exe to detect the COM Port if
your PC runs under Windows 2000/Windows XP. Please refer Chapter 8 COMPORT UTILITY for
detecting the COM port number of ACT-IR204UN device.
