SAS RAID adapter

Altos R910 supports an optional server RAID adapter. The adapter
provides SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) support through a specially
electronically keyed PCI-Express adapter with the following RAID
components:

•

RAID activation key

•

RAID cache

•

RAID BBU (battery backup unit)

Note:

For more information on how to configure the hardware

RAID components on the server RAID adapter, see “SAS hardware
RAID components” on page 94.

Removing the SAS RAID adapter

Observe the ESD precautions and pre-installation instructions
described on page 37.

Disconnect any cables attached to the SAS RAID adapter

(A)

Rotate the slot retention latch on the rear of the card slot upward

(B)

Pull up the adapter to remove it

(C)

.

5

Store the card in an antistatic protective wrapper.

Install the slot cover over the empty slot, then rotate the retention
latch downward
