OPERATION
All the data from the PID Modulation Controller is displayed on two lines of seven segments LED
display.
The display has three main zones:
1. PV Display:
Current outlet temperature (PV) or parameter type is shown depending on the function of
the screen.
2. SV Display:
Current Setpoint temperature (SV) or configurable parameter values are shown
depending on the function of the screen.
3. Action display lamps:
Control output indicators OUT (Green LED) lights up when the modulation output turns
on and goes out when it turns off. The brightness changes in proportion to modulation
output signal increase/decrease during operation.
Event output indicators EV1/EV2 (Orange LED) lights up when outlet water temperature
is 10F over/under current setpoint.
Auto tuning action indicator AT (Green LED) Flashes when Auto tuning is turned on and
goes off when AT terminates automatically or if Auto Tuning is turned off.
Manual control output action indicator MAN (Green LED) flashes when manual control
output is selected. Light goes out when automatic PID control output is executed.
Operating Keys
Parameter Key:
Pressing
button on Operation Mode and Setup Mode progresses through the
screens.
When pressed continuously for 3 seconds, you can move between the Operating Mode
screen and the Setup screen.
Down Key:
When pressed on a configurable parameter screen, the decimal point at the lowest digit
flashes and the parameter is decreased or moves backward.
Up Key:
When pressed on a configurable parameter screen, the decimal point at the lowest digit
flashes and the parameter is increases or moves forward.
Entry/Registration Key
Used to register the new parameter changed by with the or key.
Display upon Power-ON
When power is applied to the controller, controller will initialize and screen will display number of
controller information. Once initialization is completed initial screen of the Operation Mode will be
displayed.
Navigating through screens
Operation Mode
In the Operation Mode, the PID modulation controller can be used to view and/or change
Setpoint, Output signal and Deviation High/Low Temperature Alarm Settings. The user can
navigate to the next screen by pressing the
button. Pressing the button continuously for
3 seconds skips to the initial screen of the Operation Mode.
