2 Safety
The attached safety instructions must be observed.
2.1 Designated use
The iCAT mini is a collision protection and cut-off device for robotic arc
welding. It may be operated only with a welding robot that has been approved
for arc welding. Any other use is not permitted without the consent of the
manufacturer.
The technical data of the manufacturer must be observed during operation.

3.1 Technical data on page EN-7
The safety cut-out device must be connected correctly to the higher-ranking
control.
Safe operation of the safety cut-out device is guaranteed only if the shutdown
signal is correctly electrically connected.
Use of the safety cut-out device's signal as an emergency stop signal is
considered to be misuse.
2.2 Obligations of the operator
• Store the operating instructions within easy reach of the device for
reference and enclose them when passing on the product.
• Commissioning, operating and maintenance work may be carried out only
by qualified personnel. Qualified personnel are persons who, based
on their special training, knowledge and experience, are able to assess the
tasks assigned to them and identify possible dangers (in Germany,
see TRBS 1203).
• Keep other people out of the work area.
• Please observe the accident prevention regulations of the relevant country.
• Ensure the work area is well lit and keep it clean.
WARNING
Hazards caused by improper use
If improperly used, the device can present risks to persons, animals and
material property.
• Use the device according to its designated use only.
• Do not convert or modify the device to enhance its performance without
authorization.
• The device must only be used by qualified personnel (in Germany, see
TRBS 1203).
• Use of personal protective equipment is required.
