Engineering Setup—Audio Router
The
Audio Router
tab in the Mira Engineering Setup menu accesses two audio routers built into the Mira server hardware: one is an
Audio Input Router
, the other is an
Audio Output Router
.
These audio routers are used to reassign the default (“normalized”) audio track assignments of the audio input and output hardware
connectors, for both AES and embedded digital audio tracks.
The
Audio Input Router
is used to route the physical audio input connectors on the Mira server rear panel (or on the AES Digital Audio
Breakout Panel, if that option is fitted)—routing them into each video channel
RECORDER
transport.
The
Audio Output Router
is used to route audio from the media
PLAYER
transport sources—routing audio from each
PLAYER
into the
physical audio output connectors on the Mira server rear panel (or on the AES Digital Audio Breakout Panel, if that option is fitted).
NOTE:
Depending on the vintage and the options fitted, some Mira servers feature only Embedded Digital Audio, while other Mira
servers feature both Embedded and AES Digital Audio I/O connectors.
Mira Instant Replay
servers shipped after June, 2014 feature two DB-25 “TASCAM” connectors on the rear panel, which
provide 16-track AES digital audio I/O. These TASCAM AES audio tracks are accessible through these Audio Routers.

Mira Instant Replay Servers
The illustration below depicts how the Audio Router works inside the Mira server, with respect to the physical audio hardware connectors
on the Mira Server rear panel. This illustration applies to
8-Channel
Mira Instant Replay servers shipped after June, 2014—which features
the two TASCAM D25 AES audio I/O connectors. If your Mira server has only 4 video channels, then the “ChE” through “ChH” video I/O
connectors will be missing—but the TASACAM audio I/O track count will remain the same.
The
center
portion of the illustration labeled “
Mira Config Audio Router Control
” is the part of the Mira Config utility that controls the
Audio Input and Output Routers, as described on the following pages.
