1 Safety regulations
1.1 General instructions and notes for the reader
Please read instructions carefully before installation and
commissioning! This manual is an important part of the
product and should be kept for later use. For reasons of
clarity this manual does not contain detailed information for
all variations of the product and does not cover all cases of
installation, operation and maintenance. The content of this
manual is neither part nor modification of a previous
agreement, commitment or legal relationship.
The product is built according to the currently valid
regulations of technology and is safe to operate. It was
tested and has left the factory in a safety-related faultless
condition. Only authorized service personal are allowed to
carry out changes or repairs to the product. The optimal
protection for people and environment as well as the secure
and correct operation of the product is only guaranteed in
case all safety guidelines, safety and warning symbols are
observed. Information and symbols directly attached to the
product are to be followed. These may not be removed and
must be kept readable.
1.2 Intended use
The EV Charging station type CU is suitable for electric
vehicles with alternating current in Mode 3 (IEC 61851). See
chapter “Technical Data” for possible applications and
performance limits.
For intended use, consider also the following:
- Instructions in this manual should be observed
and followed.
- Technical limits must be considered, see chapter
“Technical Data”.
1.3 Unintended use
The following use of the product is forbidden:
- The use of the charging station as a source of
electricity for power consumers other than electric
vehicles.
1.4 Target groups and qualifications
Only personal authorized by the operator are allowed to carry
out installation, commissioning and maintenance of the
product. Qualified personal must read, understand and follow
the instructions. The operator should observe national
regulations concerning installation, functional testing,
repairing and maintenance of electric products that are valid
for the respective country.
1.5 Warranty provisions
Unintended use, failure to follow these instructions, use of
unqualified personal as well as unauthorized changes to the
equipment may exclude the liability of the manufacturer for
any resulting damages. The warranty of the manufacturer
may be voided.
1.6 Signs
WARNING – Personal safety!
This symbol together with the word “Warning”
indicates a possibly dangerous situation due to
electric power. The failure to follow these
instructions can result in death or serious
injuries.
IMPORTANT (NOTE)
This symbol indicates notes for the user,
information about the product or its benefits that
are especially important. It does not indicate a
dangerous or harmful situation.
