8.2 Moving on level ground / overcoming obstacles
Adjust the neutral position
(refer to chapter 6.4).
» Fully retract the climbing
leg.
To negotiate thresholds,
reverse the s-max up to
them and then pull it over the
threshold.

» Push the s-max.
NOTE - The climbing leg must not have been extended, otherwise it could be damaged!
NOTE - Do not overcome obstacles forwards, otherwise the safety brakes will be damaged!

8.3 Tilting the stair climbing system
WARNING - The s-max must be tilted for climbing stairs and moving on slopes!
Support foot on the drive
housing and tilt the s-max
backwards.
» The device must be
balanced.
» The device is balanced
when neither pressure nor
tension is felt in the handle.
The s-max can be moved.

In case of excessive tilting,
the safety brakes stop the
s-max in forward direction.
Recommendation by
the manufacturer:
If you cannot tilt the s-max
by yourself, use the
climbing legs as a
tipping
aid
.
» Switch on the s-max
» Press the UP/DOWN
switch in the DOWN
direction until the wheels
lift approx. 1-2 cm off
the ground
»
Tilt the s-max (fi gure 1)
» Then retract the
climbing leg completely
again.
» Move the s-max
