IP Phone Administrator Guide

Configuring the DNS Query Method

You can configure the DNS query method for the phone to use for performing
DNS lookups using the following parameter in the configuration files:

•

sip dns query type

Note:

On the phone side, if you configure the phone with a Fully-

Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) proxy and specified port, the phone
always sends “

A only

” lookups to find the Host IP Address of the proxy.
