Visual Cues While Scanning
The following visualization cues are available while you are in the act of scanning:
•
Video Frame Box: This box is the active area of the scanner. Surfaces within the box
are being acquired. Try to keep the tooth centered in the box when scanning.
•
Surfaces: Illustrates what tooth structure has been acquired. White indicates fully-
acquired surfaces. Red indicates surfaces not yet fully-acquired.
•
Zoom tools: Increase or decrease the size of the scan.
•
Depth Indicator: Helps you determine correct depth while scanning. Ideal depth is
when the size of the dynamic amber dot matches the dotted circle.
•
Rotation Indicator: Displays the orientation of the wand compared to its initial,
occlusal-facing orientation.
•
Timer: Displays the time elapsed during a scan. See “Maximum Scanning Times,”
later in this section.
